While you might think the current GuestPost.Directory is already a useful tool, it's currently nothing more than a minimum viable product or MVP.

This means that there are a lot of planned features that are yet to be developed and are currently in the works. Today we are going to discuss the next incremental release - Version 1.1

Version 1.1

Major Changes

Our next planned relase is the first of many and concerns our current blog listings.

Currently, as shown by the screenshot below, when selecting a blog listing you are shown further information about that particular blog. In version 1.1 however, we are going to be releasing individual listing pages.

The idea behind this, is so that we can provide more value to both our current listings and to interested writers.

By giving each listing its own dedicated subpage, we can display more information about each blog and in a more attactive way. This helps convert interest into proposals.

This also gives listing owners something to link to and show off on their own blogs, for example in situations where they don't want to manage their own 'Write For Us' pages or contact forms.

Finally, subpages are the first step towards a greater goal - listing management. Further down the line we will be facilitating account creation to allow listing owners to manage their content directly and establish their own GuestPost.Directory profile. This won't be possible without dedicated subpages.

Minor Changes & Fixes

As well as the major change to listings outlined above, we are also working on a number of minor changes and fixes:

  • Dedicated category pages for our blog.
  • Amending the blog navigation.
  • Adding social sharing buttons to our blog posts.
  • The creation of a mailing list to better keep interested parties up to date.

Conclusion

We're striving to create the market leading product for sourcing guest post opportunities and this is the first of many planned releases to get us to where we want to be.
